For councils, programmes and buyers
Get lots of businesses ready for Cyber Essentials, and see how they’re doing
Businesses use SIFTR free. You see the gaps they share across your area or supply chain, without collecting their answers, so funding, workshops and support go where they’re needed.
Who we work with
- Councils and growth hubsSupporting local businesses to get safer and win more work.
- Business programmesFunded schemes that need many businesses ready, and a way to show progress.
- Large buyers and prime contractorsSupply chains where suppliers are asked for Cyber Essentials.
- IT providers and certification bodiesClients who arrive with their gaps known and their evidence in order.
How it works
You bring the businesses. SIFTR gets them ready.
- Share the free check with your businesses. It takes about three minutes and needs no account.
- Each business gets its result straight away: a score, its biggest gaps and a 30-day plan.
- Businesses send you their results code if they choose to. The code holds their answers and type of business, but no name or email.
- With a partner licence, you get a programme overview built from those codes: the shared gaps, how each type of business compares, and where to start.
- Businesses close to applying book a readiness review, so they reach their assessment with their evidence in order.

See the shared gaps, not anyone’s private answers
- We never receive any business’s answers.
- The report is worked out in your own browser.
- Groups of fewer than five businesses are merged, so no one can be singled out.
The programme overview comes with a partner licence. We’ll walk you through it with example data first.
What you’d see

What SIFTR is, and isn’t
- SIFTR is a readiness and self-check tool. It isn’t an audit, a certification or an official scheme.
- It gets businesses ready. Only a licensed certification body can award Cyber Essentials or Plus.
- Technical fixes, such as installing updates, are done by the business or its IT provider. SIFTR shows what to do and keeps track.
- A person signs off every readiness review.
Pricing depends on how many businesses you support and how much help they need. We agree it with you before anything starts.
